This is the first section focusing on the History of Canada.
It begins with the theories of human migration out of Africa to the rest of world. We then explore First Nations understandings of origins and seek to understand the value that both the scientific explanation and Indigenous understandings off us.
We then move on to look at the arrival of Europeans on the continent and focus specifically upon the creation of Nouvelle-France.
We end this unit by looking at European expansion westward through their involvement in the fur trade.
